Biography

Maria C. Iliuta has been a professor in the Chemical Engineering Department at Université Laval since May 2006. She obtained her PhD in Chemical Engineering from the Université Catholique de Louvain (Belgium) and completed postdoctoral fellowships in phase equilibrium thermodynamics, separation technologies and heterogeneous catalysis at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) and Université Laval. Her research interests are particularly focused on process intensification, catalysis (heterogeneous, enzymatic, photo- and electro-catalysis), separation processes, CO2 capture and catalytic conversion, industrial residue valorization, alternative fuels/hydrogen production, and process modeling. She is a member of the Centre in Green Chemistry and Catalysis (CGCC), the Centre de recherche sur la géologie et l'ingénierie des ressources minérales (E4m) and the Centre for Innovation and Research on Carbon Utilization in Industrial Technologies (CIRCUIT, NSERC CREATE program).
